Movie Matters, Sunday mornings 9:30-10:30AM All youth are invited each week this summer to watch a movie and share in discussion to see what we can learn about our faith as it interacts with popular culture and the media. Cedar Point 2-Day Adventure - August 5-6 What better way to end the summer than a two-day trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, OH. Tickets will include 2 days of admission to the theme park and water park. Displace Me - August 15-16Join St. Luke's Youth as we recognize the children and families of Northern Uganda and Kenya and other parts of the world who have been displaced from their homes and now live with little shelter in poorly equipped refugee camps. We'll sing and worship, pray for our world, sleep as they sleep outside in shelters made of cardboard, and take a stand for others.

Reflections on 30 Hours Without Food I sit and wait for the pains to subside, I wonder if anyone can hear. Days and weeks and months go by and still I'm filled with fear. My famine began when I was small we've always been alone; I try to stand but only fall the next meal source unknown. All we have is strength in hope To last throughout the day. The walk begins and never ends And all we do is pray. Who should listen to the cries of one. When too many of us will die? We need the help of other people To win this lifelong fight. No one's life should be this way, With eyes of glassy stares; If there's nothing else that you can do, Then keep us in your prayers! --Mariah Ferguson |
