For more information about confirmation, contact Rev. Brian Durand, Pastor for Youth Ministries.
Confirmation in the United Methodist Church is a sacred occassion. For some young people, confirmation represents a maturity of faith that allows the youth to claim the baptismal vows made by family on their behalf during infant baptism. For those not already baptized, confirmation includes the sacrament of baptism and the outpouring of God's love. During the confirmation service, young people make a statement, literally "with firmness", that claims the love of God through Jesus Christ in their life as they become members of the church. We believe that young people should know what they are saying in this ceremony, what it means to be a member of the church, and what it means to be a disciple and a growing Christian. For this reason we offer a variety of confirmation class opportunities for youth in the 7th grade and above.

Quest Confirmation
Meets: Periodic Sunday classes and retreat/service experiences
Must be in 7th grade or above
A non-traditional confirmation class is offered when there is interest for youth seventh grade and above who are seeking more in-depth faith discussions or who can’t commit to 12-14 straight weeks. The experience begins with an information meeting for parents and youth who together decide on class meeting times. The small group (no more than 8 students) helps design the experience, which includes mandatory retreat attendance, personal work in faith exploration, and service opportunities. The classes meet periodically for a year and conclude with confirmation on Easter Sunday. Email Brian for more information.
